Nothing Poem by Lucie Githanga

Nothing

I spent my summer
Waiting for nothing
Tolerated the scorching suns
for nothing.
Sat through the cold mornings
Of July
Waiting for nothing
Freezing my lovely fangs off
For nothing.
But then my nothing.
Had once been something.
Thus twas still something
Before the nothingness
There was hope
There was longing.
