Then what really does?

I forget who I once was.

People say that it is true
That nothing lasts forever
But if that is the truth
Then why are people together?

I think that it's an opinion
And that it's not really true
But if nothing lasts forever
Then when they be through

Since when does nothing last
And when was it really true
If nothing lasts forever
Then what happens to me and you?
