Nothing Is Permanent (Sonnet #245) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Nothing Is Permanent (Sonnet #245)

We keep changing coats, coming back and forth,
Resting in heavenly realms or in hell,
Then gathering our subtle bodies for earth
To pay karmic dues, gain virtues as well.

We're but travellers between different worlds,
Nothing is permanent but God and soul.
Never are we alone; despair's absurd,
Merciful skies, like the sun, shine for all.

And still, without love, life has no meaning,
Though love starts with oneself first and foremost.
Take it easy on yourself, no rushing;
Prioritise your wellbeing at all costs.

In the heart lies our earthly balance sheet:
What truly matters costs nothing—love and good deeds.
