Nothing New Poem by Gedion Onyango

Nothing New

I once trudged these soils!
Flipping my chipping depleting skin. Face. limbs and nibs of knowledge
I experienced the sweetness. bitterness. Beauty and incorrigibility of nature
But I knew not his face. I knew no his soul.
I swam. Rode. Flew. Anticipated and admired
I douched into the heart-lings. Witnessed hatred. Slander and Greed
I learnt and experienced. Practiced. Loved. Hated and reciprocated
I got the honor. Shame. Loss. Anger. Prayers and divergence
I embraced wisdom. Foolishness. Criticisms. Neglect and anxiety
But I knew not his face. I knew no his soul.
Though, still I held onto hope. Life. Death. Resurrection. Assurance and darkness
I, in the end saw nothing new. I went and got forgotten.
I matter less as my bones shrinks beneath the weight of nature.
And as they got born, they got drunk'd into same hallucinations strangers no to these soils
But no one, none of them know him. None know his soul
