Nothing On The World… - Poem by Justin Gadberry

I have got nothing on the World
But obviously, the World has something on me
No Matter how close I come to success
Another loved one falls down in distress

By success I mean putting all bad in the past
Then another tragedy, praying it’s the last
On the outside I try to act as if I don’t care
Where deep down inside, I’d rather be the one in despair

None of this a joke, not at all a game
Physical, Emotional all pain is the same
With physical bruises and scars may be to show
But emotionally a broken heart, everyone knows

Clueless of what I have done to deserve this treatment
But every second with them was a time well spent
Don’t think I’m mad because I stopped to help you
I just remember that promise, that you would do this to

So at the end of the day it’s clear to see
I’ve got nothing on the world, but the world has something on me

Have nothing on the world? Read your own poem! - Fine flow, a heart-felt message to which so many can relate. The sentiments shine.
Welcome to PH and many more pieces to come from you....?
