Nothing Truly Ephemeral Poem by Mohammad Younus

Nothing Truly Ephemeral

Nothing truly ephemeral—
in this world,
not in its essence,
not even in the hereafter.
All things, when raised up,
will return to their true state,
their fitrah, untouched by time.

In the vast expanse of being,
what we send ahead,
what we carry within,
will reveal itself—
as it always was—
unbroken, unchanged.

No seed loses its nature,
no soul its essence.
Man will rise as man,
an ant as an ant—
each one true—
to the heart of its being,
each one bound—
by the eternal law of continuity.

Here, in this world, change is apparent,
a shifting veil over an unchanging core.
The essence remains constant,
though it may unfold in myriad forms,
expressed through the dance of life.

The truth is clear:
change is not in essence,
but in how that essence manifests.
It is the nature of Reality,
where apparent death,
the perceived emptiness,
are illusions we cling to—
mere shadows in the play of existence.

For beneath the veil,
there is no end,
no beginning,
only the eternal presence—
of what is:
forever whole,
forever constant,
forever true.

We rise from this truth,
and to it, we return—
unbroken,
unswayed,
part of the eternal flow,
where essence remains,
unmoved by the illusions we create.
