November Poem by Khumo Mhlanga

November

Well-mannered mystery
Experience & hardship palpable on your soul
Hard-edged hero
Can your shoulders really hold the world?
Stubbornly refusing to inhale as though doing so would shatter perfection.

Analysis is spot on...
You can't hide from the truth
'Suit & tied' class clown
Suave, charming...rich, dark ebony.
Molasses
Women like ants to honey
Is this all part of your plan?

Show yourself, chameleon!
Exoskeleton hiding a vulnerable interior
Someone is longing to balance you
Let them...
Remove the veil.
