Now And Then Poem by Jayne Downing

Now And Then

Now and then
Have and had
The chasm chiselled by a tense

Brimming wells
Crystal memories
Swim behind our eyes
Fall in
Languish in
The moment while it lasts

Float in pools of history
Remember what you mean to me
And all the plans we made

Made not make
No mistake
Your train pulls out
You were here
Now you’re gone
No recompense
Nothing left except past tense.
