Ntoane! For Uncle Mongane Serote Poem by Jacques Sprenkie Mateya

Ntoane! For Uncle Mongane Serote

Where likely, i will say
Ntoane my love? I have never told you
What you are to me

You are like my woman
Her well-build beauty
That doesn't weaken by time

The rivers like the wrinkles due to ages
Unplanned streets like unplanned movement of her eyes
Ever green land like her hairy skin
Trees like her shambolic hair

The curvaceous road like her bums
When leaning in her breast
Sleeping without disruption
And forget the trouble of the world

Loving me for who i am
To me you are like what cave is to monkey
And the nest to eagle
Moment I way from you
And life time in my heart

but Ntoane what are you doing now
how can you change my color
and paint a different color in my heart
