Nuffa From Buninyong Poem by Francis Duggan

Nuffa From Buninyong

Rating: 3.0

His second home in Buninyong is the Buninyong Crown Hotel
And in 'Ye Ancient Village' this 'Nuffa' is known well
And why he's nick named Nuffa? i never asked him why
and truly he's a character and knowing him is a joy.

And though he's small in stature this fellow Kenny Barth
You'll find him larger far than life he's got a great big heart
If short of cash for drink in Buninyong then call into The Crown
And ask our Nuffa for small lend he'll never let you down.

None better for to crack a joke sing song or to recite
How often in the Crown Hotel did Nuffa make our night
He'd recall happy memories of Buninyong long ago
And recite Bango Paterson's 'Clancy of the Overflow'.

And though we may yet be parted by long miles the memories with me will stay
Of the Crown Hotel in Buninyong and Nuffa for many a day
the man from Warrenheip Street no dollar millionaire
But wealthy in all other ways and Nuffa types are rare.
