Number Six Poem by Edwina Reizer

Number Six

If the only numbers I knew
were one through number five
then if number six showed itself
how would my mind survive?
All the things we believe to be true
form our perception of reality.
But sometimes a truth will stare you in the face
and then you must change your view.

Some will say I don't believe it
no matter what they see.
They'll close their eyes to all of it
and pretend that this can't be.
Those that keep their minds open
will welcome number six.
They recognize the world around them
is different in how it ticks.
