Numbered Ghosts Poem by sammi ama

Numbered Ghosts

Rating: 5.0

1. i think maybe you know
when i want to be alone
but instead of
giving me the space i crave
you hold on tighter
making me want to run farther

there’s damage being done here

2. a haunted house
you’re trying to repair

but these ghosts like
their creaking floors
the dusty corners decorated with webs
and shattered windows
that somehow manage to block out
the morning light

3. dressed in all black
i would’ve thought
you’d like this spooky shack

until you came in with blueprints
and cans of paint

4. stop and leave now
don’t come back until you can
see the beauty this space already holds

This is a poem with an all new theme involving living spaces to the liking of ghostly images. Over a period of times the atmosphere itself seems adorable to those living there. Amazing poem.
