O Lord, Thy Light Glows Poem by Bireswar Halder

O Lord, Thy Light Glows

Dirge of blood in the winds,
Wild blood speaks in hearts,
Where's faith, where's harmony,
We are islands searching for islands.

No peace, no certitude, no tranquility
We live in narrow lanes of premonitions,
Everywhere, chants of fear, of dying nights
We are slaves to our own death.

Our hearts soothed in cruel lullabies,
No light walks our dawns
All around, songs of dry bones, of broken dreams
We sail along a river of endless dreadfulness.

O Lord, offer a new heart to wear
Give a message for peace which sticks
One day, Master, we shall learn
To live out your holy ways.
