O my flower vase,
How fair thou art!
Thou holdest blooms,
And all my heart.
Red, blue and gold,
In morning dew,
The earth seems fair
When I see you.
My princesses three
Once danced in glee,
With flowers in hand,
So wild and free.
At Naz Circle
Their laughter rang;
With open arms,
They danced and sang.
Now far away,
Three bright stars are—
Moscow, Melbourne, Pescara,
So near, yet far.
Each dawn I picked
A bloom for Naz,
And placed it soft
Upon her hair.
"I love thee, dear, "
My heart would say;
Her flowered smile
Would light my day.
O royal vase,
A poet poor,
No gold have I,
No treasure more.
Yet rich am I
When flowers bloom;
They bring my loves
Into my room.
From Joglu Circle
I gaze at thee;
At Kobikunja's gate,
Thou waitest for me.
O vase, thou holdest
More than a flower—
My love, my home,
My happiest hour.
One by one,
We'll drift away;
Perhaps I too
Shall leave one day.
Yet thou shalt stay
When we are gone,
At Shaonaz Villa,
From dusk till dawn.
New flowers may bloom,
New children may play;
But guard our love
From day to day.
O my flower vase,
When none sees me,
Keep all our joy,
Our memory.
