O My Isolation! Poem by Dr. Richa Tewari

O My Isolation!

Omnipotent are you with huge bulk, O My Isolation!
You come to me without vacation,
My efforts to ignore you go in vain,
For your sphere extends more in commotion.

In my drizzling horizon pleasant with hue,
Amidst a bird-doublet I don’t espy you,
I look back – Oh, you gently invite me under your parasol –
You burn my eyes with salty dew.

Filtered by sky’s sieve, grinded by rock -
I find you waiting for me upon hummock,
Euphony of breeze veils inside the humdrum groan,
Intimacy with you deepens to the utmost stock.

Copious is your presence inside my soul,
You’re the true friend when I am sole;
I know you won’t betray me,
For, I am not vocational and you are free of toll.
