Where Is Perfection Poem by Dr. Richa Tewari

Where Is Perfection

I wanted to possess…
That is always in my heart
Will it be there? I cannot assess.
Merely a blizzard of the age?
No, an intimate genuine instinct
Bestowed by Celestial sage.

Protesting my aspiration –
I feel I’m rebellion in His nation,
By imitating and obeying my lord
I accepted to possess…
Eventually, I suffered a lot to gather all
That made something distinguished withal.

Neither I seek for Buddha’s salvation,
Nor Veda’s holy pieces of rejuvenation,
I stared at all by a philosopher’s eye,
Endeavored like a common human, but why?
In want of fire as lays the extinguished coal,
Devoid of response is dying my soul.

Is my aspiration good for me?
I, a purified soul and this is the world of lust and envy,
Is it flawless and pious what I want to possess?
‘Worship is for perfection’
A broken idol can’t be placed on alter,
Adulation is partial if it needs correction.

I revered for heavenly bloom not for a wild,
After a delayed veneration, I’ll not be beguiled.
Now worship is no more,
Sugar can’t be likely if the whole ocean is sour.
My alter is wrecked, flowers languished, hope shattered,
As I’ve seen untold defects in my idol scattered.
