O silent, silent Moon!
Teach me thy silent ways,
O teach me how love love defrays -
Besides thy silver-scented shoon.
Ye cozy, barking dogs!
Lieth with their paws around,
Excited by the gurgling sound
Of flowing water caught in clogs.
Rise thee too, evening Star!
Lift the veil of helplessness,
Lighten the sky of Inverness
And educate the worlds afar.
Hear the distant owlet's cry!
Secured in some stealthy bush-
There fly bats - O wait, O shush!
The King Cobra is slithering by.
My visions failed me much;
I could not see all wants,
But find my mind in reckless daunts,
These sacred thoughts suffice no touch.
Lone, lost, desolate,
I have shared Nature's glee,
How longer shall I worship thee?
When shall we meet? Find me a date
If not, then find me none;
I shall live for life's own sake,
I have loved thee; not been a rake,
I get my fate, this sad tale done.
Tranquil was the music then!
Stained with woe, but still gay,
Listen to soft roses say!
"Sing wild with us, adopt our ken."
How lovely did they sing!
Standing by the shoreless shore
I could not feel my pains, no more!
I came the King, I went the King.
