O You, Man, In Divine Face Pristine Poem by Mohammad Younus

O You, Man, In Divine Face Pristine

O you, Man, in divine face pristine,
Your essence hidden and unseen,
You are the true image of the gracious God,
Prophets of old whispered, seldom heard.

From the dawn of His spirit,
Since God has breathed into you,
Essentially a primordial being, you are,
From the Supreme Being, by any name.

You are the disjoined immortal letters,
Whose meaning remains concealed.
Gnostics fear to declare aloud: we know.
No mate, no equal, no unequal for your true self.

"There is no God but your true being.'
This truth you will undoubtedly know,
When from your face you lift the veil.
