O You Who Have Believed Poem by Mohammad Younus

O you who have believed,
Seek help through,
Patience and prayer
It is difficult except for,
Those that are sincerely devoted¹;
Patience and prayer together needed;
They are equally important;
They are not mutually exclusive;
Patience alone will not be sufficient,
To build the temple of peace;
Prayer alone will not be sufficient,
To build the walls of protection;
Prayers and patience are like two wings,
To fly against the fast and fierce winds.
