Obituary Of Friendship (By The Sea) Poem by Wynand Johannes Louw

Obituary Of Friendship (By The Sea)

Sitting, waiting, wishing
by the side of the sea
I hoped you’d one day
be able to share with me.

O, how I wish I could see you now!

Sitting, hoping, dreaming
of the one last chance
I had to see your
sweet face that night.

O, how I wish I could be with you now!

Lying, dreaming, crying
over how mournful I feel,
each time I think of you
and your embrace.

O, how I wish I could see you just once!

Lying, crying, endlessly hoping
that these simple wishes
might one day also come true,
as my wish for someone, someone like you.

O, how I wish I could see you just one last time,
speak to you one final word...

O, how I wish I could see you now!
