Object Lesson Poem by Elizabeth Lindberg

Object Lesson

Rating: 5.0

Oops no need to go there,
behind that door a monster lives,
I've been there yes,
I know it well,
and I survived with this to tell
I know my path better for it,
Oh, and I had a treasure once,
I did not know just what I had,
A love so rare, a jewel fine,
it's worth beyond compare, was mine,
it took the loss to appreciate it,
I know now, where not to go,
I know now, to love what's fine,
I'll guide my feet,
toward life enhanced,
if God gives me another chance,
I'm ready for it
