Observation Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Observation

Rating: 5.0

I observe
As an observer
Track of horrific
Experiences
Leaving behind
Aching scars
Of wounds
That causing twinge
Even today
And severe burns
Illustrating violence
And blood-shed
Leaving impact
Over the centuries
From one generation
To the next
From times
Immemorial
Carving the earth
That belongs to all

I observe
The Polity
Of the world
Class structure
Vast pieces
Of the land
The peoples live
And turmoil
Their sincere
Efforts
And attempts
To preserve
Their cultures
And traditions
Their systems
Socio-religious
And political

I observe
Their whims
Chasing-
The innocence
And innocence
Facing-
Targeted violence
At all levels
Acute uproar
Due to corrupt
Rank and files

I observe
Somehow
Harsh suppression
Paving its path
To terrorism
Contemporary
Regimes turning
Tyrannies
Crushing
And repressing
Righteousness
Over the times
Knowing not
The cause and effect
And learning
No lesson
From the past
For curing
The maladies
While lacking
In education
On human
Moral values

I observe
People evoking
Sympathy and concern
And dissatisfaction
For the poor shaping
Of this world
Into a heaven.
