Obsessed With Power Poem by Francis Duggan

Obsessed With Power

Rating: 3.5

If the words of a politician you do believe
Then you are one who is not hard to deceive
Most of them to their word they are never true
They can be quite deceptive for to give them their due
Their own and their party's praises they are only willing to sing
To lie to most politicians is a natural thing
That honest politicians are only of the few
Is not saying anything that is in any way that is new
When voting for a member of parliament you as a voter should take note
That is is for a politician that you do vote
And whatever your political persuasions may be
The one that you vote for may lack in integrity
For most politicians it seems are only obsessed with power
And like the weeds of the garden they stifle the flower.
