Obsession. Poem by Keenan Harris

Do you know what you have done? !
Have you any idea the many things I've tried,
all for your attentions; only to be denied.
I so desperately wanted to win your affections,
and prove I too am worthy of your time.
However, this wasn't meant to happen;
at least not within this life....

I cannot turn you away, I can't banish you from my mind.
I shadow from a distance, be it day or night.
You are my obsession?
No, that can't be right.
I can leave at any moment,
now just doesn't feel right.

I didn't know then,
but now I know why.
I called you my only reason,
I called you my saving light.
You are everything to me,
you are my melody and my rhyme.
You are the entrancing symphony
that forever runs through my mind.

Tell me, what is it you see within my eyes?
Is it an ocean of lust, or is it love's passionate fire.
I am yours and yours alone,
