Ocean Bed Poem by *Tony Cemaluk Egbuonu

Ocean Bed

Terrified in a bucket,
Half-full ocean in a convenience room.
A rat on routine.

Bi-alternatives awaited:
Swim to life, or sink to bye.
I swam. I sighed. I trembled.

Beating water with whisker-fins,
Struggling to live,
'Till nature's call kicked the bucket.

Turbulence swallowed me.
I rested on the ocean bed,
Then arose to jump up, out, and live.
