October's Son Poem by James Darwin Smith II

October's Son

Seek these shadows prospecting
They scream in silent rage
Duplicated in secretive cadence
Streaming in recollected currents
Forming into phantom waves enduring

Within this being
A force unseen
To the eyes of ordinary reasons
Appeasing ghostly asunder
Within these docile heartbeats
Skipping for sacred beats
For the fantasy of unparalleled dreams

A golden mask to cover the weary warring
Wearing glimpsing gleams
Whirlwind amidst galore
Thoughts funnelling evermore
Striving to be freed
By a self-accelerating expressive force
The glory of a glorious unknown

Reflect your light
Upon these shadow's reasons
Shine warmth upon this dimness
Then let me do the rest
Going beyond where I have ever gone before

Upon life itself
Doing my best
So much effort
Please, release these thoughts and feelings
So this soul can finally be at rest

Light me up
And then I shall shine
Upon your cleansing always, forever to beyond

Who am I?
Just trying to be you, you as a balanced one

In a perfect world, I would never be anywhere
I would never be anyhow
I would never be anyone

I am up in the air
Falling into the seasons
Of the scales of a self-mourning regressed

I am October's Son!
