Triumphant timid mouse
Prey of the cat that
Guards our house
In to our kitchen
You fled
Expecting escape
But instead
You were taken
By our idle hands
The walls that held you
Like a prison
Became your home
A mousy King
On his mousy throne
However by the 8th day
Of our venture
It appeared that the
Pearly gates had been entered
A cold curled husk
Was in your place
In your mousy home
On your mousy throne
As Rabbie Burns once said
" An act of kindness is better than any diamond "
So sorry mousy our kindness failed
But to us you were a diamond
Never to be compared
