Ode To Paralympics Poem by Dean Jennings

Ode To Paralympics

Today is the end of the Paralympics, and it's been fantastic!

The highs, the lows, the drama and the laughter.

I can say 'I WAS THERE! ', I came, I saw, I watched it all with a cheer and a roar!

At first I saw disabilities, feelings of disbelief, tugging on heart strings making it sing!

By the end I only saw great sport, awarding a gold, a silver, and a bronze.

A medal for one and all, inspiring a generation to keep pushing on when ever they fall.

I'll miss you now your gone, visit again soon and don't leave it too long.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This just came to me on Sunday 9th, the last day of the Paralympics. I can't really describe how moved I have been by what I've seen in these last 11 days, but I gave it a good go! Enjoy.
