Ode To The Candle
Dancing flames,
Queen of dames
Oh baton of light
In you presence darkness frights
You are the beacon of hope
Repelling evil that gropes;
Every man and corrupts him
White wand of illumation
Oh candle, as you cry;
and your waxy tears dry,
Just to bring light and help;
To every man who seeks to enlighten himself
You can defeat darkness;
But darkness cannot defeat you
Powerful, you are the wand of heaven,
Illuminating the seas seven
