Ode To Winter Poem by punsara amarasinhe

Ode To Winter

Chill wind slowly embraces the body
Wolves of the night howl and bark
Gloomy clouds roaming across the sky
Glitter of the moon fades in dark.

Bats and owls sing without ictus
Where the departed spirits lay
Stygian tombs seem too vicious
Canopy of stars looms with no ray.

Winter comes once a year
Wretched souls implore for solace
Power from above grants a cheer
Which consoles us and ends the malice..........!

Interesting take on the holidays. The winter would be colder without them!
