'Unending Quest' Poem by punsara amarasinhe

'Unending Quest'

Rating: 4.5

From womb to the tomb
We are on a quest.....
Deceiving each other,
Flattering our beloveds
To satiate the greed
Flares in our hearts.....

If the world is transitory
we are it's wretched passengers
Who scramble over the labyrinth
Of 'Sansara' to uphold
The frivolous life.....
Pumped up by pride in the heart
Living with gluttony and envy
Coping with untamed lechery.
This will never end
But, keep our mortality
In the eternal captivity
Of 'Sansara'………..

Lovely and philosophical piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned in poetic diction with conviction. Indeed, life is an unending quest - a quest for the future to exceed the past and present. Thanks for sharing Punsara. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
