Of Pyres Smoking Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Of Pyres Smoking

Of pyres smoking
In the cascading rocks
Of the cascading mountains
Rocks and mountains
Somnolent
Not just on rare winter nights
But even in heats volcano-like
In this area wide extensive
Bleak
Roam restless nymphs
And cadavers that sing
And Philosophers of the Long Beard
Together I heard them sing:
We draw the juices from the
Pearls of crowns sitting enshrined
On heads and backs of she bees
Humming in diamond cells and
Ring; and in the nectars of
Surfeiting clouds and in the
Head bands of white silent things.
Phenomena of surging,
Sound, electric, light
Incorporated in so many a summer
Night. Encapsulated in the so-called
Dot be a warm universe, not hot.
And immensities of immensities
Dissolve to Dot
Thus Electric of Us be
Equations Derived that roam
Through Labyrinths as yet
United yet separate, independent-individual
And unite.
Rise!
Up rise the Universe
The time be come for.
Now be the Motion: Time written on the Wall.
