Of This Rhyming Addiction Poem by Francis Duggan

Of This Rhyming Addiction

Of this rhyming addiction i may never be free
It was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
I used to love reading rhymes when i was a boy
And writing them nowadays is a thing i enjoy
I write of the beauty in Nature i see
The beautiful bird singing on a sunlit tree
And of some of the people i happen to meet every day
With rhyming words i am one who just loves to play
For forty six years i have been a rhyming buff
And i am one who has written many pages of stuff
My physical best years in the forever gone
But for as long as i can do i will keep on rhyming on
To write rhymes is easy as easy as can be
I wrote my first rhymes in nineteen seventy three
