Officers Please Beware Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Officers Please Beware

Officer's please beware
There are lots of people
Who will now dare
To take your life without a care
They know not
What they do
Police reforms passed
Now, your life is up to you
The State Legislature
Has gone to far
They've stripped cops rights
Near and far
No Law Enforcement Bill of Rights
To save those officers
Who had to take a life
Civilians now decide
An officers fate
When he fights and struggles
To stay alive
What fool would want
To now wear a badge
And cater to criminals
It's all so incredibly sad
Officers' please beware
There are lots of people
Who will now dare
To take your life without a care

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Good cops suffer when they are all painted with the broad brush of racism.
