Oh Ho Can I Be Like You? Poem by mariam khan Farah Abdulahi

Oh Ho Can I Be Like You?

Rating: 0.5

Oh what should we do
You look at with my fair skin
You think oh what a shame
What a waste of a beutiful white girl
You say you should never judge a book by it's cover
Yet you see a white girl
The trueth is i'm not a white girl
I'm half cast and i'm muslim
If I take of my outer garments
If I do as you do
You would be so proud of me
But how can I be proud of you
You upset the dead
You try to destroy my family
Thanks to god
The prophet Adam gave us life
So all though you are my brother or sister
I can not be proud of you
I can not take of my outer garments
To do as you do
My family meens more to me than you could ever emagen
Wether your Muslim, Jew or Christian
From dusty clay we came
Thats how we shall return
Until that day God asks us
What we did fir our family.
