The lantern shines in the lonely night
so full of splendor
but fogged with fright
Stuck inside the casement of rust
the light is getting dimmer
from all the dust
It watches all the other lights shine
all lined up
in a straight line
The lantern shines in the morning light
but it is too late
no one needs it's light
