Oh, To Be A Woman Poem by Ravi Prasher

Oh, To Be A Woman

Rating: 5.0

Mother they say
They say she is milk
Dripping with words, honey
When we were boo, boo
One end was hungry
The other was poo

We grow up, the mother
She breaks the chrysalis
No winged butterfly
She and her ilk
Are women, all of'em
Woman, it is not a word
It is a sentence, long
As long as long life

Tatooed and branded
The other were slaves
Prisoners too, and animals
Shackles and chains
Ornaments, for women
Brainwashed, they do it
Themselves, lead, mercury
Red, on head, poison
Harakiri, everyday

Women, the hand strikes
The glass ceiling, shards
Man frowns, sweep, he says
Guilt, the treasure of woman
Guilt and shackles, ornaments
Guilt, I am ugly, who heard
Ugly mother, she is sure
Woman, market is full
To cure that, ugliness

She is market, she sells
Cars, herself, rest is free
She gives, warmth
When it is warm, man
Goes out to war, to kill
Find women, not mother
Back at home, she is milk
The untiring hand too
Cleaning the endless poo
