Oh To Know Love Poem by Samantha Campbell

Oh To Know Love

Oh to know Love
to the light if day
and dark of night
the lips of me
trembled

A touch
upon the heart
tenderly settles
rescuing her
from deep slumber
in sorrow's tomb
for emotions
to whisk away
like violet petals
in flight on a sole journey
within passion's swoon

Yet she's a woman in need
of serious loving
starved lips sigh
and tears fall silent
within an orchestra
of solitude's pain
as a soul keeps pulling
at wanton urges
it's almost mystical
such blissful recollections
of yesterday's interludes wane

Still battling on
in the name of love's
consistent war
the prize for victory
a key to the heart
that's keeps
giving more

As she waits
for him to embrace her
and with love
he takes
the
flower
of her
field
of
life
