Oklahoma Poem by John McCornack

Oklahoma

Rating: 5.0

The Governor’s Mansion at Christmas Time
Is filled with joy, flowers, and Peace on Earth
The Red Poinsettias glow with a special pride
And the Christmas tree gives us all a rebirth

Soon another day will appear on the calendar
And it will be time for more trips to be planned
If God remains willing and the creek don’t rise
There will be still more photos of this great land

Black Gold Remains to be mined At the Gov's place You'll find. New technology Brings back to life The old, worn out And abandoned chaff. And perhaps It's likewise, true For people Like me and you. (Spring floods Replenish the plains, So fear not creeks rising, What counts is what remains.) s
