Old Age Poem by Marilyn Lott

Old Age

Rating: 5.0

My aunt turned ninety-two
She hadn’t plan to be around
She’d been ready for years to go

“I never thought I’d live this long”
I often heard her say
She didn’t plan to see the things
That she’s seen up to this day

I think about my own life
And wonder how I will be
If I too lived till nine-two
A much older kind of me

Will my body be broken down
Will arthritis take over completely?
Will my glasses be enough
For me to continue to see?

And what about my mind
Will it still be in tact
Will I embarrass my family
I wonder just how I’ll act

I guess I will have to wait
I might never know the stage
That I will be when I become
A person of old age!

Hi Marilyn - Old age can be a curse or a blessing, depending on how we live our lives. Check out my 'Secret of Old Age' and see if you agree. Thank you for sharing - Cheryl
