Old Friends For New Poem by Phil Whittaker

Old Friends For New

Upon making new friends,
you tend to forget, the ones upon you depend,
Those old ones who have always been there,
All those combined memories that you share,
But for some reason you think more,
Of these new comers thoughts,
You break old bonds, and form some new,
But you should remember the ones who are true,
through thick and thin,
And closer to kin,
Never forget those who have shared,
every pain and emotion,
And given you devotion,
You should keep them close,
It's they who matter the most.
