Old man with lanky legs,
carrying a briefcase—
always running,
as though pursued
by the angel of death.
What drives you,
this ceaseless chase?
The ticking clock,
the fear of final breaths,
or the fear of losing
Your heard earned
Treasures?
You'll leave behind
everything you've gathered,
like autumn leaves in the wind—
your collection,
once cherished, now forsaken,
handed to those
you once dreaded
Would take away your treasures.
In the end,
what will remain?
A briefcase filled with dreams,
and shadows of pursuits
that fled with time.
Face the quiet now,
before the final run,
and see the futility
in the race against shadows.
