Old Willie Poem by Francis Duggan

Old Willie

As gray as a badger one of him might say
And a badger is one who looks hoary and gray
His wife she is living with a far younger bloke
About that says Willie my heart is not broke
She fell for a younger man with me that's okay
'Twas hardly worrying made my hair turn gray
He never does pine for Belinda his ex wife
Old Willie the fellow who can laugh at life
Ten times a grandfather and old to look at maybe
But you will not find any as young at heart as he
With men half his age he can drink all night long
And he is not shy for to burst into song
A man who loves life and who can laugh every day
And an unkind word of him you won't hear one say.
