Omote, I In Love, My Love For You Poem by Johnson Emmanuel

Omote, I In Love, My Love For You

Love in the eyes, love in the lips
Love in the spirit, soul and my mortal flesh,
Love that meshes
Our hearts into one nation,
Love the anthem of our pride.
Love the laughter in my mother's tongue,
Love the sun rising from our savannah heart -
Love the wind that speaks the speech of love
On the round table of our tropical heart.
I greet this love, the rose in my dreams
That beautifies my subconscious
With her red apparel,
I greet this love that resolves the quarrel
Between my very reason and emotion.
Love the tourist centre of my conscious town
That resides the birds named joy and laughter,
Love the sonorous symphony of heaven orchestra
Being composed by nature musical hands.
Love the green of the leaves, love the sap
In the minstrel throat of the plant,
Love the strength in the mahogany wood
That makes her walk gallant with the feet of elegant gait.
Love the bible of the immortals,
The breath of undying breath,
It is this love I declare to you
With no kola nut in my mouth.
