On A Lovely Rainy Evening Poem by Daisy Pereira

On A Lovely Rainy Evening

It is raining lovely outside
trees whimpering slowly
yesterday's dreams.

Birds fly eastward
to their happy homes
bathing in the sweet sunny shower.

Something makes me sad
too sad for words.

Hear the lonesome child
the weary fields
the melancholic moon
rises slowly...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
sometimes in a rainy season, during the last hours of sunset, when the light still lingers, you can see the rising moon too simultaneously.... filling the eve with a calm sadness
