On A Nice Day Poem by Francis Duggan

On A Nice Day

Everywhere i turn to look i do see
Nature's beauty everywhere all around me
In the southern December on a day of twenty degrees
Butterflies dancing around the sunlit trees
The countryside looking green after recent rain
On such pleasant weather one cannot complain
Children in the park playground laugh at their play
Flushed with the joys of a nice Summer's day
Contented cattle in lush paddocks chewing their cuds lay
Wafting in the breeze the sweet scent of grass mowed for hay
Of such natural beauty a poet a poem would write
For lovers of nature poetry to enjoy and read and recite
With the southern Christmas just a short time away
It is so good to be living on such a nice day.
