On Atoning Poem by Fred Rik Kesner

On Atoning

'on atoning'

Let our hearts [ speak without necessity of mediating
Thoreau's 'one-talk, ' referring to Adam unhitched -
It is no good for the mind to remain solitary
even with the grandest of thoughts present;
we magnanimously by means of pen and ink ]
unveil the fruits of rumination.
