On Impulse Poem by David Taylor

On Impulse

Rating: 5.0

It’s time to go.
The vacations over
and friends depart
to varied and distant places, far apart.
She stands there not any airs or graces,
smiling only simple and honest in intent.
Her husband waits nearby
making last checks of packing
all correct?
An impulse in all purist sense of love
that woman I would dearly take and hug.
Would such a gesture be misconstrued?
In so thinking the moment ripe has passed,
loves lost itself but one more chance,
and hesitation wins with just a glance.

Lovely poem with a tinge of regret. The things that one loses in moments of hesitation. M.

BONK! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Ah, I think I've got it.............abit of a tease, but I am pleased. This touches on love so beautifully. In this case above, it appears that Impulse could lead to wonderful things. marci ann. :)

Quality work, as can only be expected from your pen, David...Sometimes proactivity is a necessity, but aside from business i still go with whim, impulse & spontaneity over anything else...Solid Penning, my friend! ~ F.J.R. ~

A well caught moment David. What turns on each? The actual and the possible.
