On Looking Through My Patio Window Poem by Richard St. Clair

On Looking Through My Patio Window

Lilac buds are bursting joyfully,
Revealing their green leaflets as we speak;
Soon gay songs will burst forth from the beak
Of every springtime songbird wondrously!
When now I feel my precious body fluids
Race through my veins with newfound energy,
I'll add a fresh verse to my diary
And celebrate the waxing sun like Druids!
No longer do the chilling wintry nights
Depress my thoughts and feelings wearily;
At the first spring robin's chirping cheerily
My joy is lifted to belated heights!
There is no time quite like such early springs,
When Mother Nature thrills to my heart brings!
