On My Knees Poem by Aidan Clevinger

On My Knees

It's night.
Outside the stars beam
Like caution lights.
With heavy heart I fall on my knees,
Thud.
It's been a rough day.
But as I tell Him the things
That torment and hurt,
The heaviness goes away.
Weights I'd been bearing
Are lifted.
Sorrows I'd been nursing
Are healed.
Tears I'd been crying
Are dried.
Peace fills my spirit,
Trickling through me
'Till even my feet stop hurting.
Even though I can't see Him,
I feel Him.
As I rise and fall again on my bed,
I know He's there,
And that's all I need.
I tell Him goodnight,
And that I love Him,
Until next we meet,
On my knees.
